  MANTALAI     (UDHAMPUR) Jammu and Kashmir attracts people from all over the world for its ancient temples and breathtaking scenic beauty.  Sudh Mahadev Temple , Mantalai Temple and  Gauri Kund  in Chenani Tehsil of  Udhampur district  are some of them. Surrounded by lush Deodar forests, Mantalai is few Kilometeres away from Sudh Mahadev. Located at a height of over 2000 mts, it is a famous for being the place where Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati. Mantalai Temple is an ancient Lord Shiva temple in Udhampur near the Mantalai Lake. Goddess Parvati is said to have born here. She later married Lord Shiva at this very place .      Devika                                              -Narinder Anthal Devika, a small holy rivulet flowing through Udhampur, has got such a religious and cultural importance for the people of Udhampur that the land of Udhampur is known as Devaknagri.This sacred river has its origin at near Sudhmahadev and at Venisung  it merges with Suryaputri Tawi and this confluence is a place of pilgrimage,where a fair is organised on the eve of Baisakhi every year.
